Privacy Policy

Knots & Naps is a small independent publication, and this policy is written the way the rest of the site is: plainly. Here is everything we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.

What we collect

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which guides people read and where visitors come from. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects standard usage data (pages viewed, approximate location by region, device type). We see aggregate reports, not identities. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Newsletter email addresses. If you subscribe, we store your email address in private storage on our infrastructure and use it for exactly one thing: sending the newsletter. We do not sell, rent, or share the list, ever. To unsubscribe or have your address deleted entirely, email payton@knotsandnaps.com and it will be removed.

On-device tool data. Interactive tools like the packing checklist save your progress in your own browser's local storage. That data never leaves your device and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser data resets it.

Email you send us. If you email us a question or correction, we keep the correspondence so we can follow up. Nothing else is done with it.

Affiliate links

Some articles contain Amazon affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, Knots & Naps earns from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. When you click one, Amazon sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy. Pages with affiliate links carry a disclosure.

Advertising

We may show display ads through Google AdSense to help keep the site running. When ads are live, Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Advertisers never receive your personal information from us, and ads never influence what we recommend in our guides.

What we will never do

• Sell or share your email address or any personal information.
• Require an account or an email address to read anything on this site.
• Let an advertiser or affiliate relationship change an editorial recommendation.

Children

This site is written for parents and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes (like ads going live) will be reflected here before or as they happen.
